This is a new edition to the BowTech Channel. Shop Talk will cover things that may have come up in my conversation with Ron in the BowTech Podcast or will shine a spotlight on an aspect of string instruments we haven’t looked at. It won’t be a regular broadcast but will give me the freedom to do some things that don’t fit into the BowTech program.
This week I talk with Isaac Salchow, a fantastic bow maker, who works at his grandfather’s shop here in New York. William Salchow began making fine bows in 1960. In Episode #5 (”Catching A Buzz”) Ron & I tried to answer a question about rosin from an anonymous listener. I felt we could use some more expert advice on the topic and so I called Isaac.
